Capital Punishment—The Beheading

June 15, 2015

One of the things which I remember when I used to live abroad, and work for intentional organization in which many citizens of the world live and work, I made my own mini-sample survey on many people of different nationalities including American citizens. I asked all of them the following question. What do you take in life if the doctrines of life are the following? These are: good and true, bad and true, good and false, bad and false. All of them said, good and true as priority number one, good and false, as their second priority, but few people say, bad and true as their third priority but none chose as the priority of life which is the fourth ones.

And I came to an idea that most people are advantage and benefit oriented than values and principle oriented in life and they can be mislead and deceived by monetary benefits since most people agree on number one and two. If all of them agree only on number one, I would come to an idea that most people are principle oriented and they seek their own standards in life. The above observation is mostly true from all kinds of conversations and communications which I personally made in various web discussions and interactions which I had in past with many individuals of different backgrounds and origins. Whatever principle of life which is good cannot be true, but what is true can be good. However in this world, truth is harmful when it is put in place in different life scenario and most people prefer to live in way finding comfort zone with surrounding environment and people even if it is wrong though it can be good to resemble others.

This gives me an idea that most people are not in to bad and wrong ideas and things of life since such way of life do lead people in doing notorious crimes and acts which people do not like in life. Hence, there are quite few people who do commit bad and wrong things of such given acts of life and such acts do lead to design and draw nations and societies state in their constitutions as to the need for what they call for capital punishment since they are the bad dead ends of wrong acts and worst act of all. Hence, out of billions of people, few people are victims of such given punishment since they are the one who commit such give acts. People are put to death by capital punishment for crimes of drug dealing, murders, overthrowing legitimate government by coup de tat, criticizing religious beliefs and ideologies and so on.

Although capital punishment is one of the laws inherited from past, which is taken from Jew tradition, an eye for an eye and elementary science Principe also tells and states that every action has its own equal and opposite reaction, it is not possible to bring justice and order with revenge seeking mentality and thinking since revenge aggravates more rebellious acts. People cannot be put to fear by such given laws or codes from doing whatever they need to do in life. It is mate of our understanding that there are also corruption in the interpretations and understanding of this given law. When  leaders of any nation or society want to remove individuals whom they hate—they are governed by hate politics—they label such given individual thinking’s in way it helps them categorize under those acts that deserve capital punishment and they remove them so.

This is one of the bad practices that do require by itself another capital punishment to those people who perform such given style of understanding and thinking since it is one of the corrupt areas and thinking such given people undertake since people should have correct thinking and understanding in relation individual thinking and action along with acts and law and procedures in life. Distorting individual thinking and action in relation to laws and constitution does not benefit the individual and those people who strive day and night to remove such given individual because of their given thinking, beliefs and values of life they set to their own life since the motive behind such drama is dirt and bad. Hence, the idea of capital punishment is still a matter at requires clear thinking and perception along with higher level of understanding and interpretation since it is not easy to punish individuals in false and bad way due to the fact that such mistake will make others incur expensive costs which result in regrets and such regrets do have their retribution and consequences of life which the authors of such misdeed and wrong thinking possess.

Therefore, what does the world say and do in regard to the Capital Punishment in today?

Following UN Watch’s forceful protest campaign, covered in newspapers worldwide, Swiss TV is now reporting that Saudi Arabia has failed in its bid to be head of the UN Human Rights Council next year.“Before we break out the champagne,” said Hillel Neuer, executive director of the Geneva-based UN Watch, a non-governmental human rights group, “the truth is that the presidency is mostly symbolic, yet the Saudi monarchy — a regime that is beheading more people than ever before — retains their power as a full voting member of the council.” “The real question is why the U.S. or the EU refused to utter even one word of protest when we urged them, together with Saudi dissidents, to oppose the monarchy’s election in 2013? It’s a sad comment on our world that oil continues to trump basic human rights principles.”

Saudi Arabia on Monday, June 15, 2015, beheaded a Syrian drug trafficker and a national convicted of murder, taking to 100 the number of executions in the kingdom this year. Shocking new video appearing to show at least 30 Christians being beheaded and shot by ISIS in Libya has been released. The 29-minute video, titled ‘Until It Came To Them – Clear Evidence’, shows dozens of militants holding two separate groups captive, thought to be in the south and the west of the country.

The use of capital punishment in Saudi Arabia is based on Islamic law and is condemned internationally because of the wide range of crimes which can result in the death penalty and because it is usually carried out by public beheading. In 2011, the Saudi government reported 26 executions in the country. Amnesty International counted a minimum of 79 in 2013. Foreigners are not exempt, accounting for “almost half” of executions in 2013. In fact, there are many foreigners (especially those from the developing world) who are routinely executed mainly for drug smuggling and murder. There has not been any report of a Western national being executed in the recent history of Saudi Arabia.

According to statements found on the Wikipedia, capital punishment, death penalty or execution is punishment by death. The sentence that someone be punished in this manner is a death sentence. Crimes that can result in a death penalty are known as capital crimes or capital offences. The term capital originates from the Latin capitalis, literally “regarding the head” (referring to execution by beheading).

Capital punishment has, in the past, been practiced by most societies, as a punishment for criminals, and political or religious dissidents. Historically, the carrying out of the death sentence was often accompanied by torture, and executions were most often public. 36 countries actively practice capital punishment, 103 countries have completely abolished it de jure for all crimes, 6 have abolished it for ordinary crimes only (while maintaining it for special circumstances such as war crimes), and 50 have abolished it de facto (have not used it for at least ten years and/or are under moratorium).

Nearly all countries in the world prohibit the execution of individuals who were under the age of 18 at the time of their crimes; since 2009, only Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan have carried out such executions. Executions of this kind are prohibited under international law. Capital punishment is a matter of active controversy in various countries and states, and positions can vary within a single political ideology or cultural region. In the European Union member states, Article 2 of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union prohibits the use of capital punishment. The Council of Europe, which has 47 member states, also prohibits the use of the death penalty by its members.

The United Nations General Assembly has adopted, in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014 non-binding resolutions calling for a global moratorium on executions, with a view to eventual abolition.[6] Although many nations have abolished capital punishment, over 60% of the world’s population live in countries where executions take place, such as China, India, the United States and Indonesia, the four most-populous countries in the world, which continue to apply the death penalty. Each of these four nations has consistently voted against the General Assembly resolution.

United States is a Christian state than Islamic but it has voted for death penalty where as India, Indonesia and China are more into Islam and Buddhism. The ISIS and Saudi Arabia and other few Muslim countries perform beheading for those people whom they think that they have preformed capital crime although the criterion for capital crime is very contextual. They belong to same belief system and they perform similar act such as beheading for whatever crime and act which they call capital crime and such given act requires capital punishment which is beheading. What they agree is on the act of capital punishment, but they have variance in terms of practically identifying which act is capital crime or not since capital crime is very relative and subjective since we live in world of rats and cats.

The point in here is that what are criterion of capital crimes, which are subjective and contextual matters in which any given crime which is considered as capital crime in Islamic nation might not be treated and considered as capital crime to those nations who have Christian practices and values since they have fundamental difference in rituals and beliefs in relation to the books they follow, type of prayers they recite and how they perform their prayers, in fasting rules, holy places and the like. A critic to any Islamic value could result in death penalty where as such given critic may deserve rewards and gifts in Christian churches and the like. This is one of the paradoxical aspects of this world.

Individuals who are put to death penalty in terms of beliefs and thinking are those people who shake the existing foundations of beliefs and thinking. They later on become kings of the world and they lead the world by their given thinking and belief since they have mysterious realities and principles for life. When they are put to capital punishment, they are considered as sinners and criminals, but when their thinking and belief overshadows the world at large thru the passage of time, they become lights and stars of the world. This is one of the proven historical account and autobiography of this world. Since this world is governed by hate politics—as one page and aspects of it tells—such given people are crucified as bad and dangerous people but they will be good and useful and important personage in due course of time and they open one gate, mystery and secret, chapter and phase of the world and human history of this world.
