Deviation—Norm Vs Abnormal

June 30, 2015

Deviance is defined as any behavior that violates social norms, and is usually of sufficient severity to warrant disapproval from the majority of society. Deviance can be criminal or non‐criminal. To deviate means to stray from an accepted path. An accepted path is in most cases is a conventional approach and thinking and way of life which most accept as legitimate which can be true or false, but could verified and checked thru the process of time and maturity and understanding of society. In such aspect of human life, most people are deviant from the accepted norm, what could vary is the extent and degree of such deviation. When such deviance is in considerable and in significant amount, it becomes noticeable and thus people are labeled as deviant since they are seen and publicly out.

Most sociologists understand and define that deviation is of three kinds. The first one is the positive deviation in which a person could deviate from the practice of the norm, and such deviation could result in exclusion from the social norm and stigmatization of person from social activities and norm in such deviation, the person is victim since one thinks and believe in different way and manner than what most people do. Hence, such person could suffer as result of the conviction and faith one show in carrying out one’s daily activities and routines.

In the second type of deviation, it is negative deviation in which such given act and thinking is not acceptable by whichever standard people measure such as killing, poisoning or murdering people lives. Such deviation is not only crime but also disease such people suffer as result of their given bad act in which they deviate from the good. In such practice, people deviate from the norm as result of bad choice they make in life since it is not healthy thinking and practice.

The third type of deviance is neither positive nor negative in which such people have a deviated act and thinking which does not put any given harm to any other people although they have deviated from society’s norm and expectations. A good example of such deviance could be a person could have big household items in small rooms, a person can have more than 20 pets in home, and the like, which does not have a such impact but such given act and thinking is not considered as normal act and thinking since the norm practice in different way.

Deviance is relative and contextual. When a person deviates from one given and form of life, one could be considered as mad or abnormal, but such given deviation could result in joining another circle and way of life in which such category of people and way of life, this given person could be considered as chosen one and normal. Such given contextual and relative way of interpreting peoples way of life and understanding is result of most people’s understanding and interpretations than what the objective reality speaks since this world is result of deviated people thinking and practice. An act and thinking that is considered and understood as deviant in one society can be seen as perfect and complete in another society and perspective.

One of the contributing factors in determining whether an act is considered is culture, but cultures change over time and vary from society to society. For instance sometimes ago in Western society and eve in developing nations, smoking and drinking alcohol is considered as deviant, but in today it is of course no longer. Culture is totality of thinking and values set by any given society in which such values and thinking could change as society changes and change is one of the inherent characteristics of this world. Hence any given act and thinking of deviance at one given point of time is considered as norm in another time. This is one of the trends in this world.

For example, Jesus Christ, Prophet Muhammad and Buddha are result of such deviance and if they did not deviate from the thinking, belief and practice of the society which they respectively belong, they would not bring about such profound and tremendous change in this world. Other great peoples of this world are also people of deviances in which they have seen certain light on the things or thinking which they come about and as result of such deviation, they become successful in doing whatever things they need to do in life and they achieve their purpose and existence of life on earth in decent manner.

Scientists and inventors who come up with inventions and findings were cursed and considered as negative deviance since they have come up with understanding and thinking the rest of them did not understand and they were excluded from the scientific community which they belong. They were out casted since what they think and they have come about could not fit to the understanding and thinking of the scientific norm and society.  As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, to be great is to be misunderstood.

Although such given deviation is considered as negative deviation in the beginning, as it passes all kinds of hurdles and challenges and as they pass each and every test they are given by which could include electric and other kinds of strange shocks by the society which they respectively belong, they happen to be considered as positive deviations since they reach at a point of no return and impossible to label and categorize such peoples thinking and belief as negative as reality and time tells that as those strong forces of oppositions and conspiracies and sabotages could not resist them. This is another characteristic of this world, which is correct and true.

Why are such people understood as negative but later as positive deviance is due to the impact they have come about. Their thinking and understanding do have an influence on the existing institutions and leaders and thinking since they shake the foundations and fundamentals of existing institutions which they affect and touch. In such scenario of life, and in every society and age, these three aspects of deviations do exist in which one is considered as negative at one time could be considered as positive in later time and those who are considered as negative are still negative one which depend upon circumstances and conditions of thinking and act and their practical influence and impact on society.

Going Against the Wind

June 29, 2015

Unlike religious belief ideological implementation of rituals, stands, beliefs and oppositions in terms of practice and conceptual framework they have in relation to same sex marriage this world used to have decades ago, this world is heading quite in different direction and way of life by some percentage of its population which decline to go by the way the social norm used to dictate in the natural relationship man and woman should have, instead, such people have created their own conceptual framework along with its practical reality by having their own territorial islands and way of life by their own. At one time in the history of humankind, homosexuality is used to be considered as insanity and mental illness.

After passing sufferings and tribulations, discrimination and stigmatization, and all kinds of harassment they face in the midmost population which they used to belong they ultimately have declared victory in nations after nations which will eventually lead to worldwide recognition of rights and freedom in the entire lands in to the future. This is a sign that every nation and territory in due course of time will accept and recognize the fundamental and basic rights of the actors of such human drama of the same sex marriage in every land regardless of religious beliefs and ideologies people have in the world.

Although one does not belong to this world, one wonder as to where this world is heading since such practice is becoming common and people continue to practice as they have fierce oppositions. Few things happen without peoples own volition and they become part and parcel of the human drama even if they were cursed and blamed by leaders and other segment of population, they happen to be objective reality in the world. Who is going  to tell about the fate of this world even such people who were cursed by religious teaching and leaders are declaring and having triumphant with their struggle for rights and freedoms. This is one of the characteristics of this world emerging out.

In 1973 the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. A group of psychiatrists with B4U-Act recently held a symposium proposing a new definition of pedophilia in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders of the APA.

Same-sex marriage (also known as gay marriage) is marriage between two people of the same sex. Legal recognition of same-sex marriage or the possibility to perform a same-sex marriage is sometimes referred to as marriage equality, equal marriage or gender-neutral marriage by supporters. The legalization of same-sex marriage is characterized as “redefining marriage” by opponents. Same-sex marriages can be performed in a secular civil ceremony or in a religious setting.

Same-sex unions have been recorded in the history of a number of cultures, but marriages or socially-accepted unions between same-sex partners were rare or nonexistent in other cultures. In the late 20th century, religious rites of marriage without legal recognition became increasingly common. The first law providing for marriage of people of the same sex in modern times was enacted in 2001 in the Netherlands.

Nineteen countries (Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark France, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New-Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States and Uruguay) and certain sub-jurisdictions allow same-sex couples to marry. Similar laws in Finland and Slovenia are not yet in force. Polls show rising support for legally recognizing same-sex marriage in the Americas, Australia, and most of Europe. However, with the exceptions of South Africa and Israel, no country in Africa or Asia recognizes same-sex marriage. In addition, various faith communities around the world support allowing same-sex couples to marry or conduct same-sex marriage ceremonies.

The Supreme Court of the United States made a historic ruling on same-sex marriage on Friday, voting 5 to 4 in favor of legalizing all unions. Not only does this allow everyone to marry the person they love, regardless of sexual orientation, but it’s also a step forward for mental health in a community that’s often stigmatized. The US Supreme Court has currently ruled that same-sex marriage is a legal right across the United States. It means the 14 states with bans on same-sex marriage will no longer be able to enforce them.

A large body of research has shown that lesbian, gay and bisexual people generally experience higher distress levels than heterosexuals due to social exclusion, stigma and other stressors. Research also shows that, on average, married heterosexuals experience better mental health outcomes than their unmarried counterparts. Since most lesbian, gay, and bisexual people are denied the opportunity to legally marry a same-sex partner, they are potentially denied the positive emotional benefits of the institution of marriage and they appear to be dually disadvantaged in terms of their psychological well-being.

Psychology and Homo-Sexuality

Psychology was one of the first disciplines to study homosexuality as a discrete phenomenon. Prior to and throughout most of the 20th century, common standard psychology viewed homosexuality in terms of pathological models as a mental illness. That classification began to be subjected to critical scrutiny in the research, which consistently failed to produce any empirical or scientific basis for regarding homosexuality as a disorder. As a result of such accumulated research, a large number of professionals in medicine, mental health, and the behavioral and social sciences, opposing the classification of homosexuality as a mental disorder, have in more recent years claimed the conclusion that it was inaccurate, and that the DSM classification reflected untested assumptions that were based on once-prevalent social norms and clinical impressions from unrepresentative samples which consisted of patients seeking therapy and individuals whose conduct brought them into the criminal justice system.

Since the 1970s, the consensus of the behavioral and social sciences and the health and mental health professions globally is that homosexuality is a healthy variation of human sexual orientation, although some professionals maintain that it is a disorder. In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder. The American Psychological Association Council of Representatives followed in 1975. Thereafter other major mental health organizations followed, including the World Health Organization in 1990. Consequently, while a minority today believes homosexuality is a mental disorder, the body of current research and clinical literature supports a consensus that same-sex sexual and romantic attractions, feelings, and behaviors are healthy variations of human sexuality, and is reflected in the official positions of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Psychological Association.

Religion and Homo Sexuality

There are various religious views on same-sex marriage. Arguments both in favor of and in opposition to same-sex marriage are often made on religious grounds and/or formulated in terms of religious doctrine. Although the majority of world religions stand in opposition to same-sex marriage, the number of religious denominations that are conducting same-sex marriages in modern times is increasing

In 2005, the governing body of the American Baptist Churches USA affirmed that “God’s design for sexual intimacy places it within the context of marriage between one man and one woman” and that “homosexuality is incompatible with Biblical teaching.” In 2006, the church’s Pacific Southwest regional board (which includes churches in California, Hawaii, Nevada and Arizona) split from the denomination because the denomination’s national leadership declined to penalize congregations that welcomed openly gay members.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops opposes same-sex marriage on the ground that “marriage is a faithful, exclusive and lifelong union between one man and one woman.” In 2003, the conference stated that “what are called ‘homosexual unions’ [cannot be given the status of marriage] because they do not express full human complementarity and because they are inherently nonprocreative.” In 2006, the conference reaffirmed its previously stated support for a federal marriage amendment (a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of a man and a woman). And in 2009, the conference issued a pastoral letter on marriage that once again defined the institution as a “bond between one man and one woman.”

There is no universal Buddhist position on same-sex marriage. According to some interpretations of the Buddha’s teachings, one of the 10 non-virtuous deeds that lead to suffering is “sexual misconduct.” This term is generally understood to refer primarily to adultery. However, some Buddhists interpret the term to include homosexuality.

There is no official Hindu position on same-sex marriage. Some Hindus condemn the practice of homosexuality, but others cite ancient Hindu texts, such as the Kama Sutra, that seem to condone homosexual behavior.

Islamic law forbids homosexuality, and the practice of homosexuality is a crime in many Islamic countries, including Iran and Saudi Arabia.

The Reform and Re-constructionist Jewish movements have supported gay and lesbian rights, including same-sex marriage, since the mid-1990s. In June 2012, the Conservative Jewish movement approved a ceremony to allow same-sex couples to marry. All three movements also allow individual rabbis to choose not to officiate at the weddings of gay and lesbian couples. Orthodox Judaism does not accept same-sex marriage, and its highest governing body, the Orthodox Union, has lobbied against gay marriage nationally and in various states.

… The margin is small but statistically significant, said Robert P. Jones, CEO of PRRI, because of the exceptionally large pool of respondents: 40,000 adult Americans. (Eight percent refused to answer or said they didn’t know their stance on same-sex marriage).

According to PRRI’s poll, there are now more people of faith who favor marriage equality than stand against it, a dramatic turn in one of this country’s most divisive debates and a generational shift with the potential to sweep through everything from the wedding industry to the 2016 presidential race.

Follower of Favor in % Oppose in %
Jew 77 18
Buddhism 84 14
Catholics 60 30
Hinduism 55 30
All Americas 54 38
Muslims 42 51
Mormons 27 66

It is possible to predict that same sex marriage will be norm in due course of time since the signs and indication of its current trend will have its impact to its dominance and survival to the future in every land unlike religious teachings and guidance tell, people will continue to behave in way they want than what religious books and teachers govern and dictate.

Indistinguishable Duties

June 25, 2015

There was a prophet few thousand years go. And he used to comment on every people and society he came across in which when he meet a Philippine people, he praise that given land and people; when he met Canadian people, he praises its land, rains and forests; when he meet Chinese people, he gratifies and praises their eyes and its treasure as well. But there was one thing he did not mention, in which since all people he met did not like one thing in common, the devil, he never praised.

And one day, he met the devil. The devil heard all kinds of invitations and presentations such people gave to such man. The devil and the man met and the devil made prestigious invitations and presentations in which none of the above did. The claimed prophet had nothing to say about such given invitation about the devil. If he mentioned good about the devil, all would hate; if he commented bad on the devil, he did good things none of the above did. In the middle of such confusion, the man came to an idea that there is no such devil, but the devil is in you, the force that make you do bad and if anyone does good even the devil, accept that good since there is no such devil power.  They have divisions in the belief and understanding of God, but hey all agree wit one concept, the devil. This is quite funny and strange.

Last time, someone came into me and tried to preach in regard to perfectness and competences of the Bible. I asked him, how. He replied, it tells about past, present and future. I told him, I respect the book he mentioned since it tells many things, but it also lacks fundamental things on life and what is happening on the present day world such as the coming of internet technology, and the advent of other scientific discoveries except it gives apocalyptic warnings which put stresses on human consciousness which put those who follow to wait for destruction and end of the world, but things are currently going to the contrary and there is no end of the world coming. The United States of America, for instance, is not even mentioned in the book but it becomes of one of the fundamental forces that change and affect the destiny of this world while those mentioned have no impact on this world.

Further on, one mentioned that the book he is talking about is not perfect and complete for two major reasons. The first one is there are many assumptions and figurative expressions which lead to corrupt way of understanding in which few people—priests, pastors and evangelist—happen to be rich due to weakness of the mass since it has not put things in precise and clear manner. In favor of interpretations and teaching what is written in the book, such people have devised their own mechanism; they divide it into many sects, which lead to conflict and contradictions. The second one is it lacks logical sequence such as things created in the book of creation, the second and fourth day are contrary to what the objective reality speaks in which there cannot be day without the sun. What is quite strange is, few people have come up with the intention of magnifying its glory, they try to mystify things that do not even deserve mystification and they complicate lives of many people.

Life is created by nature. Such creature of nature—life—should be simple. Life should have meaning when people try to craft it in simpler way than make it thorny thru doing hard choices and decisions. Few people complicate their way of life since they think that they are special and number one. These two feelings and thinking—the desire to be unique and the ambition to be the best—put many people into comma of life and they suffer and take wrong way and paths of life. Such given people do end up complicating and making intricacy on other peoples since they interfere on their personal choices and affairs of life, which they should not.

Such simplicity is not related into being foolishness and stupidity. Simplicity in here means doing things on the proper manner without getting into further complications and disappointments. Doing things on the right way mean being truthful, honest, genuine and other related aspects of life. Doing things in wrong way mean sabotaging and conspiring on other peoples’ lives and destiny, being jealous and envious, and related. When more people do things in right way, this world will be in good; when more people do things in bad way, this world be in bad. By doing things in right manner, there are possible human mistakes which are obvious, but such failures should not get confused with deliberate bad drama people do to justify their bad.

People do bad things on people on deliberate manner and they later on ask forgiveness, which is the becoming practice of those who seemly are good but inwardly bad, but this is one of the most foolish dramas such people have, and they claim such practice in their personal doctrines of their life, which is not written on the book which they believe and follow, but hidden in their thinking and belief since they are bad ones, which is connected with popular saying, it is better to ask forgiveness than permission, is one of the worse dramas many people have at this is point of time; but one advise such people, the reverse one to practice, which is, it is better to ask permission than forgiveness, which is the right and appropriate way of doing things in a nice way.

Everything in this world germinates from thoughts and feelings. People feel something, that feeling is later on converted into thought which they relate or know and they do not know based on their experience and exposures of life. And then they act based on what they think and understand. People might not act on what they think for various reasons since what they act on is mainly dependent upon external factors. Courage, magnitude of understanding, willingness or volition, and other related aspects are important factors that contribute for translations of thinking into action. Such given undertaking requires quite a perspective.

When people think that what they know, what they think they know, what is in existence on objective reality in relation to mentioned two aspects of their given life are in contradictory terms, such people should wonder in here that there must be something they miss and mess up, wrong and they should contemplate in such given aspects of life and revise their own thinking and belief before they take wrong move and go to bad directions since in such scenario of life, their decision is wrong and is unacceptable due to the fact that such given three aspects of their realities do not go in conformity, they lose harmony; and contradiction and confusion is one of the characteristics and realities of such given types of people.

In the above scenario of life, there are three spaces that exist in their given life. The first one is the space that exist between what they think they know and what they know; in the second aspect of their life, what they know and what is existing on the objective reality; in the third aspect of their life is what they think they know and what is existing on the objective reality. If they can, they should narrow the spaces and gaps of such contradictions. Otherwise, they should keep it as it is before such gaps get wider and wider which could result in the final extinction of their aspects and realities of life. Spaces are dangerous things.

For instance, assume in here that I am considered as special person by given people and such people derive certain understanding by the belief and thinking they have as matter and result of following certain religious doctrine. In this case, they have developed an understanding that they think that they know something and they know something. In such valley of life, their given understanding could be developed from tale and traditional stories they inherit from past, in relation to concepts and beliefs they have as per their given understanding of certain books. This is one aspect, which s they know something in one part, and they think they know something in other part.

In the second scenario of such given people life, they think that they know something about the person whom they think as special person as result of gossips and rumors they collect all around from those people whom they think they know. In this case, they think that they know something about this given person whom they think that given person is special person and they collect all kinds of information. Here they have an understanding that they think they know something.  This is the second aspect.

When both aspects of life are seen on the objective reality, the objective reality about this given person could one found contrary to both given aspects as there could be few obvious similarities, and such people cannot say and tell anything about the fate of this given person whom they think as special or bad person in which both aspects do not exist in most on the objective plane of existence. The reality is totally different from the two given aspects of such given person life. This is the third aspect.

While such theatrical of life is going on, one wonders on the space that could exist and the life of this given person in which this given person was supposed to be a prisoner of such given peoples expectation and decision, but in reality, the person happens to be a prisoner of one’s own choice and decisions one make in life. In such theater of life such people have enough resource to kill or give life, they can destroy or deliver new life, they can harm or help this given person. Hence, such given person lives under certain amount of stresses of such people sabotage and conspiracies while the person goes by one’s own thinking and belief which does not belong to the above aspects of one’s given life.

One is neither dictated by fake destiny such people derive nor goes by what on the rumors other people say and tell. One live by one’s own way of life than go by what other people tell, think and wish. Life is not about seeking destiny, but settling one’s bill along with designing one’s good future so that one can live better life as day goes by day. One has good experience in life and one designs one’s life so that one has good end since one knows very well on the practical skills one should obtain in life. Hence, one does not seek any elderly or other people advice or guidance since one think that one knows better than them about one’s given life.

And such contradictions of life is going on, those people who think they know, those people who rumor about this given person on what they know and things that are going on the objective reality along with that given person’s reality and life, one wonders as to what makes such people to be in such state of being and reality, such people to be in such state of thinking and belief. The first one is their own understanding and interpretations of religious belief and thinking that they follow. The second one is the type of conditions and situations of life they are in. The third one is that given individual thinking and belief along with personality.

What is crucial in here is that the truth is the one that dictate any given reality. Such given aspect of life has two types of manifestation in this objective world. One is seen; the other is hidden and such hidden aspects of life is relative and contextual based on peoples’  willingness to know, magnitude of understanding, positive mindset and other related factors which are revealed in due course of time. It is not possible to fabricate any given truth. It is crystal clear to see the end or fate of fabricated truths by just looking at world history. It is not possible to make many false ideas into one truthful aspect. It is not also good idea to use political and religious methods to arrive at any single truth with the intention of meriting any given religious or political doctrine along with the intention of collecting the people of the world into any given old or modern religious and political belief or thinking.

Now, one lives in such state of life in which it is the process of life that dictate and such people start checking and un-checking, collecting statistics although one is not governed by any given statistics as well. It is good and praiseworthy to realize that there are number of people who give recognition, such people tell who they are since they respect other peoples’ efforts and works, and they should be respected and honored as well. Although they start collecting all other information with the intention of justifying their claim or falsifying, making that given person whom they think to be treated as special person or as deceiver or traitor and the like.

In such given undertaking, a traitor is defined as conspirator, double agent and the like. In one’s given case, one is not a traitor since one is not involved in any conspiracy theory; one is not involved in any religious or political group undertaking; one has no any given agenda except expressing and sharing personal opinions but rather informed about any given drama to legitimate government bodies of the things one understand and interpret such peoples conspiracy theory; in fact, one stooped a given conspiracy theory from getting translated to this objective world as result of one’s own personal understanding and beliefs.

Whatever aspect of life is going on, one lives by one’s own way of life as they go by their own too, in which both aspects should be respected. There are no cross sections and common things that exist between one-self and them, since they believe and think that personality is the most important point of their belief but one thinks that it is the truth that is the central and focus point. It is not possible to make any kinds of justifications and argument and proof about a person who lived 100 years ago except on what is written and told. It is formidable to believe on what is written since we live in quite age and time since history tells something. Truth and personality cannot go hand in hand and thus, things could fall apart at this given point. One does not care who is the owner or author of any given system or way of life since human beings are fallible, forget about the systems which they bring about.

One thinks in here that life is not about politics, what is important in here is not being follower of certain dogmatic principle and beliefs, but it is matter of searching and knowing the truth which has no specific homes. Most people have desire and quest in life such quest of life is satisfied at the moment they belong to a particular belief system and way of life and by doing so, they think and feel that they are secured. One respects that. But one believes and thinks that life is about finding and living for the truth, which has no specific formula and author. Truth has no particular group and shelter. The truth is homeless. One wonders in every valley and finds out the truth. The purpose why one is created is two folds; the first is to know the truth; and the second is to share the truth one knows to others. And one lives accordingly. There are no bad, crime, sin and wrong in that.

Why Do People Judge!?

June 24, 2015

Sir Winston Churchil said, attitude is little thing that make big difference. Of the good attitudes and virtuous thinking people have towards other people is being respectful, encouraging other people efforts, being grateful and appreciating other people efforts and achievements they make in life as well. One of the poisons that kill other people efforts and achievements people have in life is being judgmental toward other peoples’ efforts and achievements even on their given personality too.

Judgmental people are in everywhere. Such people judge people based on their own personal behavior and thinking since they judge them in cases and in way that their opinion merits their own things than the reality and other people. Most judgmental people are highly ego centered and self centered people as all individuals are but such people are considered in here as all animals are equal, but few animals are more equal in which they are in the circle of fewer animals too.

Being judgmental means tending to judge people too quickly and critically of, relating to, or involving judgment. Most people are good at being judgmental but what matters is that what they judge comes out to be false in due course of time since reality speaks louder. Why are people judgmental on others? What are the root causes for judging other people without knowing truthful reality, who they are, getting to know better? Why are they in haste in judging other people? What make them in hurry?

Being judgmental on people and being critical in ideas are two different ideas and perceptions of life. When people become judgmental, they affect other people negatively and they could destroy their destiny as well which is merely dependent upon how the victims of judgmental attitudes manage. In being critical in terms of views and perception, such people deliver ideas and other perspectives which could give to new way of looking at things. When people are judgmental, the focus on personalities while hen people are critical, they focus on ideas and perception than personalities.

One of the categories of people who are judgmental are in most case followers of any given religious or political or promoters of any philosophical or experts in academic studies and ideologies since they define other people based on their understanding and interpretations of life and the reality. They have come up with certain touchstone for life since they think and believe that what they have in their hands is the ultimate truth, and there is nothing beyond that. Hence such people judge other people base their given belief and thinking they have at their veranda.

This is to mean that when people think and believe that they know something, they become judgmental since in such knowing world, ego and ambition are mixed up. Thos who balance the knowing thing with ego and ambition factor do reduce the amount of being judgmental, but those who maximize ego and ambition along with knowing things are highly judgmental since they think that they know about things better than others. Knowing things better than others does not mean knowing the ultimate and perfect reality since there are people who confess their ignorance as they know better. In such given knowing, those who are experienced people are the ones who judge pope on other since they assume that they know better that others due to their experience of life, but in cases, they could fail since they are also unique experience people face in which they do not and they cannot due to various circumstances and reasons of life.

For instance, usually, Christians judge others because they are proud and think that Christians never sin and never give in to temptations. They also claim that nothing could be further from the truth! And they regard to see others with humble gesture of come to our way thing and we need to humbly admit that sin is a problem for all of us and treat others with love and compassion. This is one aspect of such life as other segments of people do similar judgmental behavior thinking and attitude towards other people. In such scenario of life, such people think that they are clean and holy, but in practical life, most people observe and understand, they are not.

The other factor for being judgmental toward other people is the hate factor. When people hate other people, they become judgmental on others. It is not the fact or the truth that plays significant role in shaping such thinking, but feelings and emotions that dictate such given aspect of life. The hate factor is toward any give individual, other society and institutions too. In such given thinking, most people fall into wrong trap since the motive behind such drama is wrong and far from truthful grounds.

The other given factor for such judgmental behavior and thinking toward others is the envy and jealousy thing. When people are jealous of other people achievement and accomplishment which they are yet destined to obtain, they happen to be judgmental towards others with the intention creating obstacles and hindrances in way that other people have bias and prejudice on the recognition such people are yet to have and achieve in their life. They create biases and misunderstanding on the sight of others by having judgmental thinking towards such people who are yet to accomplish or do something in life.

In fact, there are possible mistakes that are done while being judgmental on others as genuine mistakes and failure individuals make without correlating the above connections in which there are certain failures people do towards other people by being judgmental. They are genuine failure and wrongs in which such judgmental behavior could do with the intention of protecting other people and the like. However it is still wrong and unacceptable since it is far from the reality and truth too.

A good example can be the relationship that exist between any given book and its readers. In such relationship, there are peep who judge the book by its cover, as there are people who judge that given book by reading and understanding what is written up to page number four; there are people who understand and make judgment of the book by going up to middle of its pages as there are people who go up to last page of the book and make judgments on the book. In this scenario of life, the proper way of judging any given book is by going with the whole of its chapters and pages since judgment is on the book mean one read and understands on what is on the cover page, introduction, on the entire pages and even the back of its page too. Otherwise all other views delivered without doing these things are tantamount to being judgmental and it is not even ethical eve if one reads and writes 1000 books.

For whichever reason and motive, when people are judgmental toward other people, as most people state, do not judge the book by its cover, the haste is what they have in common. They are in haste. In this case, people should take time and read and understand the motive and message of the book in careful manner before they make judgments. They can judge, the book as if it is like this or that. However, while they are in the middle of its page or they hear from other people, if they throw a book as if it is useless, they are the ones who are useless since they have to compete reading, understanding and then tell others that such book is useless.

This kind of judgmental behavior and thinking put such given people in bad shape and make them dwell in the circle and world of regrets since the failure goes not to the book. Hence, such people lack something and they fail in their given life and undertaking by becoming judgmental.

One gives a bit of advice to those people who are judgmental towards others never judge other people without knowing the whole story and all chapters, pages and history of the story of their life since what you judge could be wrong and misleading when the whole story and chapters and pages of the book are unraveled in future time. Judging the person does not define who the person is but rather it defines and tells the person who make that given judgment in better way.

Psephology—A Layman View

June 23, 2015

An election is a formal decision-making process by which a population chooses an individual to hold public office. Elections have been the usual mechanism by which modern representative democracy has operated since the 17th century. Elections may fill offices in the legislature, sometimes in the executive and judiciary, and for regional and local government. This process is also used in many other private and business organizations, from clubs to voluntary associations and corporations.

The universal use of elections as a tool for selecting representatives in modern democracies is in contrast with the practice in the democratic archetype, ancient Athens, where the Elections were considered an oligarchic institution and most political offices were filled, also known as allotment, by which officeholders were chosen by lot. Electoral reform describes the process of introducing fair electoral systems where they are not in place, or improving the fairness or effectiveness of existing systems.

Psephology is the study of results and other statistics relating to elections (especially with a view to predicting future results). And based on the current election result which was released in here last night, one wonders as to what the election result testify or mean as per one’s own personal given understanding of the political process and way of life in this given country look like.

In the former military regime, the election process was between individuals within governing party since it was not possible to have free thinking and multi party system since they publicly announced that it was not possible. But in the current political system, multi political systems and way of life are permissible as far as the go by the rule of law that is stated under the nations’ constitution. And there is limit as to what given free party system and thinking in which most criticize it is very narrow and is intended to merit the ruling party and its own agenda.

Ethiopia population is currently 96 million and out of which, 36.8% is registered for this election. And out of the registered population, 92% has participated in the election process by making votes, which is nearly 34 million people in which 35% of the entire population has already voted and participated in this election thing.  This 35% of the population is the one that decide the fate of the nation towards the next five years yet to come although it was predetermined and foreknowledge to many people for different factual reasons. And out of the 35% population, which is nearly 34 million, more tan 27 million have voted to the ruling party which is 28% of the entire population. The rest 72% population are those segment of population who are not eligible due to age and other reasons and those who do not want to participate in such process.

As that is the case, there were four elections going on and four them were won by in one party, which is the ruling party. This is one of the characteristics of African politics such as Uganda is one good example as there are many others. These kinds of political system are creating new territory in the election world in which they win for various reasons, but such winning in most countries has resulted in conflicts. Such contradictions arise since there is claim that is going all over that there occur electoral corruption committed by the governing bodies which are reflected by the crisis and bloodshed that follow election results.

In relation to the election result of last night, one wonders two paradoxical views to discuss. The first one is the face value of the election result. In the face value of the election result, it is the majority of the population that choose the ruling party as there are millions of people who did not vote for it. This is an underlined fact. The second one is the governing body has done its homework nicely in collecting public vote in two different manners. The first one is done by doing the right work it should which is the development aspect. The second one is by the political propaganda which can be treated in two different ways.

The first one is the fear that is induced by the governing party in past years which that fear is still going within the public thinking and feeling since there is traumatic feeling and thinking going as result of bad reply made by the government in past to the riots and chaos happened as result of such controversial election results.  That given fear is till in existence in the hearts of many people and people do not want to see it again. The second one is the governing party has done its propaganda by favoring many individuals to come to its circle by offering personal advantages and benefits as more people become a member of the governing political party, not by studying and understanding that given party political ideology, but they become member with the intention of obtaining personal material advantages since they are given priorities in most occasions. People are selfish and they join any given religious and political system in order to obtain their own advantages.

This do creates its own complication and disadvantages to the ruling party since they do not go by their heart, but by their hands with the ruling party. When more people become supporters by hand, the system is under jeopardy since they are not creating helpful and useful bridge between the ruling party and the entire public due to the fact that they are advantage and benefit oriented people and they give priority to their personal motive interest and agenda than the party program.

The other page of the face value is the oppositions political parties have yet many things to do since they did not obtain the required public vote and interest by their given undertakings beside the negative forces and attacks they receive from the ruling parties. Politic is like soccer field and when two teams play, one should know the other very well since it is just one of the games that exist in this world in which such games become reality in due course of time. Game can be reality as reality can be games too. They should know their opponents very well before they enter the field otherwise they should not enter into it.

What is found behind the face value is that such given approach of leadership gives birth to new and different style of leadership coming up on stage which is the electoral-dictatorship, in which dictatorship used to be in weapons and bullets, but now in ballots thru election and electoral process. When one party system is always on the stage, wining and winning, there is something missing and wrong with the democratic system—the public and the government. One is forced to say that when such a thing occurs, in such scenarios of life such as—the public and the government are not going hand in hand, which is the reality, but the opposition political parties are not well organized, which is the reality—the known devil is better than the unknown angel yet to come.

A Personal and Social Relation

June 22, 2015

Each year, about 85 percent of the world’s children receive vaccines that protect them against tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and measles. These vaccines save about 2.5 million lives, and the hepatitis B vaccine, although not as widely used, saves about 600,000 lives. Despite this success, more than 3 million people die from vaccine-preventable diseases each year. Approximately 1.5 million of these deaths are in children less than 5 years old. Of the top 10 causes of death in those less than 5 years old, several are infectious, meaning they can be transmitted from one person to another, a research work published on , The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Website state.

A disease is a particular abnormal condition, a disorder of a structure or function, that affects part or all of an organism. Disease is often construed as a medical condition associated with specific symptoms and signs  It may be caused by factors originally from an external source, such as infectious disease, or it may be caused by internal dysfunctions, such as autoimmune diseases. In humans, “disease” is often used more broadly to refer to any condition that causes pain, dysfunction, distress, social problems, or death to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person.

In this broader sense, it sometimes  includes injuries, disabilities, disorders, syndromes, infections, isolated symptoms, deviant behaviors, and atypical variations of structure and function, while in other contexts and for other purposes these may be considered distinguishable categories. Diseases usually affect people not only physically, but also emotionally, as contracting and living with a disease can alter one’s perspective on life, and one’s personality. Death due to disease is called death by natural causes. There are four main types of disease: pathogenic disease, deficiency disease, hereditary disease, and physiological disease. Diseases can also be classified as communicable and non-communicable.

Disease has two distinct features. The first one is curable. The second one is incurable.. In the curable one, one should consult the right physician so that one gets cure out of it. In the incurable one, one goes to physician in order to reduce stress and pain. There is no complete resolution and cure one can obtain as matter of consulting any proficient physician unless and otherwise one receive psycho therapy remedy and one is relieved, in cases, from pains and tresses.

Accordingly, there are certain diseases that come can be cured such as malaria, diseases that come from parasites and the like. There are also those diseases that can be cured such as diabetics, cancers and related.  Hence, people live their life according to the nature of illness they have and face in life. They know the type of symptoms and pains they receive from such given health complications, and they adjust their life and their life style in way they can communicate and interact with the type of diseases they face in their life. Otherwise, they will suffer.

There are two types of such non-curable diseases. The first ones are those diseases that are inherited their parents as wealth. The second ones are those diseases that come as result of their failure or other unknown causes in the life style they follow and they come about and science tells that that sudden change in their life style could cause such given illness. And they live with the type of disease they carry since they cannot escape from it. Here, it depends on how one perceives on what one carries

For example, I have personally experienced two types of illness in my life. The first one is the curable one in which I faced a disease called, jardia, which is caused by parasite while I was living in rural place and I drink bad water.  I also face other illnesses when I was 17 while I was put to jail while protesting in the college as college student against the military government in past regime. In that given prison condition, I had anemia, bronchitis and typhoid, all together at a time. And I was about to die. By now none of them rae alive in my reality, but I am still alive.

In the second aspect of such disease thing, I realize that I have diabetes when I was 30. It was long time ago, and one still live with it. And one clearly knows the pains and stresses such illness give and one mange it accordingly. In this scenario of life, one faces two types of challenges. The first one is the challenge one receive by the very nature and character of the illness. And the second one is what other people deliver.  And one knows such things thru the experience and challenges one has passed in life and one act according to the nature and character of challenges one face in life. This is what they call wisdom thing.

When one knows that one has certain complication one cannot avoid, one should know how to manage since experience tells something in life. In this aspect of life, life is going in way it should since one does not expect much things in life due to the fact that such condition puts oneself to be in certain fashion and way of life and one should devise one’s own strategy and policy in order to face and live with such a thing in systematic manner. One believes and think that one is successful by so doing since the first and major thing one should do is to avoid those people who could disturb and complicate one’s life that could give pain and stress which I did and will continue doing since it is very helpful mechanism and strategy.

In like manner, this world has two types of diseases as any give individual faces. These two social diseases or problems are curable and non curable ones. The curable one has their own solution as per the nature and character of the problem and society itself since societies have developed certain skill and knowledge in resolving them and they do it accordingly. These are fundamental and basic questions such as human right, freedom, and justice which hare considered as freedom of expression, seeking group rights and the like. For example, the current situation in the west such as the question of same sex marriage is getting its own solution in many western nation and there are similar questions that are resolved according to the nature and significance of such given problems and how society want treat them as well.

The second problems and disease society face is non curable one in which society still has inherited such problems as wealth from the fore-generations. These are tribal and religious, among other problems, and conflicts which are irreconcilable and irremediable since the nature and character of such given problems are not easy and they have been the cause of many wars and atrocities in the history of humankind. Society live with such given social problems as it is currently doing, by delivering certain space to accommodate differences that arise in terms of understanding and thinking—by tolerance and forbearance. Such given aspect of problems are not curable to date, but could be curable as there are certain improvements as compared to past.

One comes to an idea that the more non curable disease are resolved in better way at individual level and the better solutions and resolutions yet to come in resolving the non curable social diseases too although both should be treated in distinct manner. Mr X heart disease cannot be connected to fight between Islam and Christian, but the conflict of Islam and Christian could cause to many peoples heart failure too. This is just hypothetic view, not even proven. This is just an idea that one feels as result and matter of conviction that one has in such life there are many things that are interconnected and interrelated with known aspects and matters and also with mysterious powers and forces which are yet to be discovered.

The Blind Disease

June 20, 2015

We are created human, but we are sometimes indulging in many trivial matters that put such creation into disgrace and dishonor. And people become disrespectful toward others for many other reasons in which one is derive out of actions and reactions, interaction and communication with each other and as result of such given interactions, people hate people, which is the common one. But there is the other side of the coin of the hate factor in which people hate people due to the fact that such given hate is inherited or taken from others like as people inherit wealth from history and fore-parents without no cause and reasons.

This is historical hate thing is a disease which people took from other people. If Mr X hate Mr Y since they have interacted and one of them did bad things on the other, this is very personal and it is even appropriate to be in that give situation. However, Mr X in 1920 hate Mr W in 2014 since both people took such hate thing from other people who live in different century. In such hate valley, people have killed the power of reasons without eve asking.

According to news article published on CNN, the horrific attack at a historic church in Charleston, South Carolina, was allegedly carried out by a young white man who appeared to have deliberately targeted the church simply because it was serving African-Americans. Witnesses say the suspect said he was there “to shoot black people,” a law enforcement official said. By any reasonable standard, this is terrorism, which is generally defined as an act of violence against civilians by individuals or organizations for political purposes.

There is a sickness in our society, as Senator Rand Paul said, that is about violence and mental illness. But there is a deeper sickness — race hatred — which is “weaponized” by such easy access to guns. And underlying that is a deeper sickness still: the American penchant for avoiding the past and its meaning.

The Charleston shooting, rooted in a deep tradition of anti-black violence, is also part of an inescapable history. There are too many anguished echoes to tally. There are the church bombings of the civil rights era just half a century ago. There are the lynchings, murders, bombings, riots, and rapes that were the enforcement arm of the unwritten codes of segregation. There is the violence, physical and legal, done to slaves since before there was a Constitution or a United States.the shooting in Charleston ended that self-indulgent reverie.

The vicious killings at the Emanuel AME Church on Wednesday reminds us brutally that race in 2015 isn’t only about fluid boundaries, elective minority status, or a postmodern sense of identity in transition. Race — for African-Americans especially — is still often a hard social marker. In this case, a target.

This racialized violence was used to make and enforce boundaries of race — and let’s be clear, to define race in terms of blackness versus non-blackness. It was not an incidental aspect of the American republic, the Confederate rebellion, or wannabe-Confederate revivalism today. It is at the very core of our nation’s history and contemporary civic life.

Racism has existed throughout human history. It may be defined as the hatred of one person by another — or the belief that another person is less than human — because of skin color, language, customs, place of birth or any factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. It has influenced wars, slavery, the formation of nations, and legal codes.

Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics. Racial separatism is the belief, most of the time based on racism, that different races should remain segregated and apart from one another.

We live quite in different century of human history. Humanity should revise and re consider its values, beliefs and thinking by the present day actions and pages of the human history. Make no mistake in human identity. Make no mistake in human achievements and accomplishments to date in which all human races are undertaking in every part of the world. Wake up and smell the coffee and the aroma of the coffee that encircles this world, and have sip of it. We live quite in different age and time and century of light of the world. See things with unbiased and unprejudiced minds, belief and thinking.

Do not be superficial in you thinking and action, but rather be the real you. That old pages of the history of human kind has no space and pages left in this new and present day human history and books. Those old traditions and beliefs are part of the human history, but they cannot fit to present day society as far as they are timely and urgent need of the present day of the world. Otherwise, they will be kept as part of the human history in the book of humanity as they will not have and cover any other space and page to the world. Be alive and active to the world by respecting the nobility and honor of the human kind in every place and part of the world. Do not feel that one is unique from other, but all have something to share to this world with responsible and accountable manner.

It is indeed appropriate to quote Statement from dear respected and honored Martin Luther king famous speech, which is read as follows:

I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

Five score years ago, a great American, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the Emancipation Proclamation. This momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of Negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. It came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

But one hundred years later, the Negro still is not free. One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we’ve come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.

And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood. I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I have a dream today!

Marthin Luther King
